Randy Thueme Design landscape architecture was founded in 1991. The firm’s residential, institutional and commercial projects are each unique responses to site specific challenges. Working closely with the client, other design consultants and experienced builders, Randy Thueme Design strives for distinct designs that are carefully composed and richly detailed. Randy Thueme has been actively involved in professional practice since 1975. As a member of the design staff at Peter Walker and Partners in San Francisco, Randy Thueme worked with Arata Isozaki and Associates on the design of Harima Science City in the Hyogo Prefecture of Japan. While with Roma Design Group in San Francisco, he was senior designer of the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, California, completed in 1989. Prior to relocation to California, Randy was a Senior Associate with Sasaki Associates, Inc. in Dallas, Texas and Watertown, Massachusetts. While a member of the Sasaki staff, he was project designer of numerous urban, institutional and commercial projects including: Flora Street in the Dallas Arts District; Betty Marcus Park at the Dallas Symphony Center, Dallas, Texas; Central Avenue and Port Clinton Square, Highland Park, Illinois; and Long Wharf, Boston, Massachusetts. Each project noted has been successfully completed, either in its entirety or significant initial stage. Additional experience with The Architects Collaborative (TAC), Cambridge, Massachusetts, included planning and design of: INELEC University in Algeria; Jubail New Town in Saudi Arabia; and King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia.
