Project Overview

Two small courtyards were composed with playful respect for the traditional style of this grand home. The spaces were tailored for a young family and numerous pets - set to move in after the closing of the 1999 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. The quietly bubbling 'Pomme' fountain by Archie Held was used to anchor the design along with a shallow pond. Four vintage Richard Neutra chairs, cushioned stools and bench swings provide a variety of seating options. Plantings tailored to the small beds added lush contrast to the use of stone, steel and gravel.
